The Real Estate Commission held its last meeting of the year in SeaTac on Dec 7.  Some of the highlights include:

A look at the forms the Auditors use when they call on offices.  Also, the fact DOL is looking for a couple of auditors and they prefer folks who have managed an office or been a Designated Broker.

A review of the Curriculum Process as well as potential changes to the Managing Broker classes.  No clear outcomes other than the fact most folks feel the classes need improvement.  What did come clear is that agents need time ‘in the trenches’ listing and selling properties in order to pass the Managing Broker exam.  There is a huge difference between ‘street smarts’ and ‘book smarts’ and book smarts won’t get you through the exam.

A presentation of the new software program that now allows Designated Brokers and Branch Managers to add, delete or transfer licenses online.  Every office received a notice about providing the DOL with access information.  Not only are the firms being asked to provide the information but so are ALL licensees.

And they want a business AND personal email address.
